It’s very obvious that placing dungeons that have already been used would conflict with players that are very familiar with all of the games. There would be no challenge because fans would already know how to solve the dungeons’ puzzles, leading to major disappointment and putting the Zelda franchise in a bad position.
But there is a reason for the lack of a dramatic change in content.
Aonuma stated:
By adding content that is very different from the original, it will take away from what was loved in the original Gamecube version. Think about one of the games you’ve played that you absolutely loved and what would happen if that classic was altered with the addition of new content. The rest of the story would be changed, and this may change the entire feeling of the game.
But don’t worry, there are small changes coming to the remake.
Aonuma asserted,
While nothing is specifically stated, let’s hope these changes are made for the benefit of this beloved game. I’m hoping the changes affect the search for the triforce shards in order to fix the tedious, somewhat repetitive nature of that task.
“We’re tuning the game to alleviate all that. The pacing should feel appropriate to the overall experience this time. We need to tighten those [gaps] and make the overall experience and story feel tighter.”
What do you hope will be changed in the Wind Waker game?
