Fortunately, the developers created a fantastic Video Settings menu that hosts a vast number of tweakable options. If you want to know how to adjust these settings in order to increase your FPS count, then follow our guide below for a few possible ways of fixing it and boosting performance.

WW3 FPS Drop Fix 1: Adjust Video Settings

The Video Settings menu in World War 3 has three tabs: Basic, Advanced, and Quality. Each tab has different settings that need to be adjusted to increase gameplay performance.

Basic Settings

In the Basic tab, the most important feature is One Frame Thread Lag – it needs to be enabled. Just this one adjustment will increase your FPS count up to 50.

Other features like V-Sync and Motion Blur can be disabled. You can leave them on, but it depends on your CPU and GPU performance, so try them out and see how it works for you.

Advanced Settings

This tab allows you to adjust Framerate Lock and other features, such as Range and Smoothing. For most players, your best bet would be to simply disable all of these settings.

There is also the Resolution setting, which is especially sensitive to your performance, so try to lower it as much as you can. Try a few settings and see how the game performs in your case.

Quality Settings

In this tab, you can adjust the rate of quality settings like Textures, Effects, Anti-Aliasing, etc. Set them to Medium, and never use the High or Ultra High settings as they’re typically too much of a drag on your hardware – even if it is high-end.

Textures and Lighting are the two most demanding settings here, so you should set them to Low.

Reddit user iJesse suggested the following Quality settings for WW3:

Textures: Low Meshes: Ultra Lighting: Ultra Effects: Ultra Post Processing: Ultra View Distance: Low Shadows: Low Foliage: Ultra Anti-Aliasing: Medium

WW3 FPS Drop Fix 2: Optimize Windows Settings

In case changing the Video Settings in the game doesn’t do much for you, try to optimize your OS for better performance. Here are a few tips on how to make Windows 10 run faster.

Update Windows and GPU drivers. Set Your GPU’s 3D Settings to Performance. Adjust your Game DVR setting: Type in regedit in your Start menu. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore. Right-click on GameDVR_Enabled and set the value of Modify to 0. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows. Right-click on Windows and create new Key with title GameDVR.
