The term “unique characters” means that the 120 figure will not be made up of 3 John Cenas, 4 Undertakers, and so on - it will be 120 different guys and gals from all eras. That’s double the playable characters that were in WWE 2K15. You can see the previously announced wrestlers here, as well as learn some new gameplay details that were revealed at Gamescom 2015, here.

The latest Superstars and Divas added to the roster include:

Kevin Owens Adrian Neville Adam Rose Bo Dallas Zack Ryder Brie Bella Nikki Bella Brock Lesnar Goldust Heath Slater Hideo Itami Jack Swagger Sami Zayn Roman Reigns Stardust Tyler Breeze Sting Ultimate Warrior Ric Flair

This marks the first time Kevin Owens (previously Kevin Steen) has featured in a WWE game. The same can be said for NXT Champion Finn Balor, and NXT favourites Hideo Itami and Tyler Breeze. More NXT stars are sure to be revealed in the coming weeks, particularly the Divas, who have now transitioned to RAW. Kevin Owens is a much requested new character given his memorable time in NXT and instant-classic feud matches with John Cena.

WWE 2K16 is focusing on the Texas Rattlesnake, Stone Cold Steve Austin, this year, with the legend as the cover star. Universe Mode, Career Mode, and an updated Creation Suite all return for this year’s game, and a Stone Cold mode is expected to be unveiled soon. It was recently revealed that the ladder, handicap, tag team, and tornado tag team matches have been brought back to the series, all of which had been removed from 2K15.

Check back next week for more Superstars and Divas revealed as part of the biggest roster ever in WWE 2K16.
