It appears the tower-style indicated by the mockup images used in Microsoft’s advertising is really happening, so get ready to go vertical rather than horizontal this time around.

It’s the ports that have the internet abuzz, though. There appear to be two USB ports, an Ethernet port, an optical audio port, a power connector, and an HDMI port. There’s also a mystery port.

As an early prototype release for testing, it’s important to note that the final version hitting shelves may feature different ports. That big one on the left side, in particular, is unclear. Is it a card slot for memory expansion or something for troubleshooting that won’t appear on the launch Xbox Series X later this year?

What do you think of the port setup and tower design, and are you looking forward to jumping into the next-gen later this year? While we don’t have a firm Xbox Series X release date and price yet, we do know it’s set to hit shelves sometime in Holiday 2020.
